(I don't know if these are features of HL2VR, but I'm making assumptions based on development time and these things being implemented in similar projects like maxvollmer's HLVR.) These things make VR games feel way better and more engrossing than more basic ports/conversions these feature sets make them feel like much more than the sum of their parts. I'd much rather play through HL2 again and physically climb ladders instead of shooting up them like a rocket, grab & turn valves rather than holding the 'use' button, pistol whip a Combine soldier for being rude. It'll be fun.Īnd I think an overhaul for visuals and features is absolutely worth it when moving a game to VR. ![]() What difference does it really make if it's here yesterday or Christmas 2020? We'll all play it. It doesn't seem important to have this now at the expense of the experience being worse than it could be. And this project's been in development for a long time now. Surely everyone here's played Half-Life 2 before, possibly multiple times. ![]()
